VEF Rīga continued its offseason roster building by reinforcing its backcourt with guard Kevin Dillard.
Kevin Dillard is coming off a solid rookie campaign on European soil when he played in Italy for Adecco Gold squad Novipiu Casale Monferrato averaging 15.7 points, 3.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
Prior toseason in Italy he played college basketball. In his senior season at Dayton Kevin Dillard had 15.3 points, 4.5 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
"Kevin Dillard is a versatile player who can play both guard positions. One of his strengths is playing pick and roll where he can create for others and himself as well. Kevin is also decent shooter and he has ability to finish around the rim in variety of ways. Last season in Italy, which was his first year in Europe, if we look at stats, for him was pretty solid. Kevin is young and motivated player who wants to reach highest level of European basketball - Euroleague. We are continuing to work on building VEF Rīga's roster. Our priority is Latvian players, so a lot will depend on how we fare in negotiotions. Our next moves will depend on that," said Nikolajs Mazurs, head coach of VEF Rīga.
